The mission of the 1-to-1 program in the Harvard CUSD 50 is to maximize educational opportunities for students, support a community of lifelong learners, and prepare students for productive futures in an ever-changing world. We are committed to creating a learning environment in which students respect diversity, accept personal responsibility, and pursue a sense of fulfillment. This environment will enable and support students and teachers to implement transformative uses of technology while enhancing students’ engagement with content and promoting the development of self-directed, responsible life-long learners. Students will transition from consumers of information to creative producers and owners of knowledge.

Harvard CUSD 50 believes that every student and staff member needs to achieve technological competence and information literacy. This includes an awareness of how technology and information resources are applied in society and how the proficient use will enhance life-long learning. Individual access to technology will provide enhancements to teaching and learning while maximizing opportunities for students by increasing engagement and access to resources, and opening avenues for personalized learning and collaborative endeavors.
